The Life Enhancement Movement

(So far…)

Lilly Ribbons

Wholesome Patriarchy leader.

Lilly Ribbons started down the Men’s Mental Health rabbit hole because she’s a straight woman who likes men.

…but, men’s mental health is not so great right now, and that’s bad for everybody, including people like Lilly who want to be in relationships with men.

So, Lilly set out on a quest to improve men’s mental health.

That quest evolved into this.

That’s how this whole thing got started.

The Wholesome Patriarchy lessons are designed to improve men’s overall mental health in multiple areas by coaxing out their inner leader in many areas of their lives, including Personal Leadership (over themselves), External Leadership (in teams), and Domestic Leadership (in relationships).

Despite creating the Wholesome Patriarchy space and focusing her work on men’s mental health, Lilly is a feminist and believes in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for everyone - inside and outside the home.

It’s this belief in happiness for all that caused Lilly to reach out to the next leader on our team to create the other half of this project.

You can find Lilly in the following places:

Cal Fitz

Wholesome Matriarchy leader.

Cal Fitz is a man who believes in the goals of this movement and wanted to finally get off the sidelines so to speak and actually stand up for something. He saw too many people going through life waiting for other people to solve their problems. He realized he needed to finally step up and contribute to a solution.

Cal managed to bump into Lilly in the vastness that is the internet. Upon hearing Lilly’s plans for creating communities where the main focus is helping people improve their mental health by giving them the proper tools for managing the ever increasing challenges of modern life, he wanted to help in any way possible. When Lilly asked him to be in charge of the Wholesome Matriarchy space he decided he couldn’t possibly say no, despite feeling that he wasn’t a leader and knowing he wasn’t an expert. The thought frightened him but also filled him with excitement. He became determined to be the best leader he could be and be honest about his flaws and weaknesses.

Cal hopes to bring a unique perspective to the Wholesome Matriarchy space while also listening to the thoughts of the community.

Why is the patriarchy side run by a woman,
and the matriarchy side run by a man?

The idea behind a woman running the men’s mental health side and a man running the women’s mental health side is simple - sometimes it’s nice to have someone from the other “team” on your side.

We view leadership as being a matter of support.

It’s not about the leader, it’s about everyone the leader is helping.

Traditionally, men’s spaces are run by men and women’s spaces are run by women… and that’s great!

We wanted to create a unique space where the opposite is true - where the number one person rooting for you is from the opposing “side.”

It’s about unity and looking out for each other.

The point is having a representative from the “side” that may have hurt you or caused you harm in the past who is dedicated to listening to you… what you’ve been through, the struggles you face, the biases against you, and the ways you’ve been damaged.

Lilly found that the support of the men’s community was particularly healing for her because of some of the past experiences she’s had with other men that were… traumatizing.

Sometimes, it’s the group that’s hurt us the most that we need the most. In some ways, the other “side” has more power to help us become whole again than our own.

One of the key driving ideas behind this whole movement is: balance.

The male-led spaces for men and female-led spaces for women already exist. We encourage you to seek their counsel, also. This is merely one more space to help bring balance and well-roundedness to your life.
