TEAM PROJECTS
-
When Cal Fitz and I were brainstorming ways to make this space more exciting, we stumbled across an idea which got us very jazzed.
What if, after the first full round of leadership courses (starting with Personal Leadership), we got people in teams to do a group project supporting a cause that is meaningful to them?
This would help people:
Develop their leadership skills.
Work on something that is meaningful to them.
Get them interacting with the community and each other more.
Do a bunch of little good things in the world.
Here’s how it works…
-
The first step is for people to think about what cause matters to them.
There will be multiple rounds of projects, so leaders (everyone that’s part of this community is considered a leader) can change causes in-between project phases if they want to support more than one thing.
Some of the ideas of causes we brainstormed were:
Animals
Food (Poverty)
Shelter
Healthcare
Supplies (Blankets, pots, pans, soap, clothing, etc)
Men
Women
Crisis / Disaster
Refugees
Education
Political Unity
We’ll be creating spaces for people interested in each of these causes, but more on that in a minute.
-
Each team project will last for a quarter.
The first will start July 1st, 2025 and stretch until September 30th, 2025.
Once teams are formed, you’ll decide together what you want your project to be.
An example is this:
If you want to join the animal cause, and you’re particularly worried about an endangered species that isn’t getting enough attention, your team project could be to create an awareness campaign that involves:
Creating a website.
Starting a social media campaign.
Recruiting more people to the cause.
Collecting donations and/or signatures to support the wildlife habitat of that animal.
This is just one idea of what could be done with a team project.
There will be a new round of team projects every quarter, so you don’t have to sweat too much finding the perfect project right off the bat… there’s always next time.
The point isn’t to do the biggest and baddest project… or to fix the whole world by yourself.
The reigning idea behind this endeavor is that, if everybody does one thing, the world will slowly get better a little bit at a time.
The more people you can recruit to your project, the more you can get done with less individual effort.

In the Discord server, we’ll be creating private categories of channels for each cause.
You can get into these special channels by simply going here:
…and telling us which cause you want to support.
From there, you’ll be given access to the private channels for that cause and be able to participate and brainstorm with your team what kind of project you want to do.
Again, the link to visit is here.
