Jesus Christ.

What are all the ways society has failed you?

Do I have time to count them?

Your life is going to

be worse than those

who came before you.

It could just be me…

…but I’ve always felt that it’s the solemn duty of each generation to create a better world for the ones that come after.

And, to that end, the previous generations fucked up.

We’ve been left a declining planet… and that is not good for the mental.

Humans can endure all sorts of things… when there is hope that it will get better.

But, we have been robbed of that hope.

That hope was taken from us before, but, at this very moment, it’s being stripped bare, beaten, and carved out like a dead husk.

That digs for us a hole of despair and dumps us right in.

Trying to afford life feels like drowning every single day.

Who has time for hobbies, volunteering, meaningful pursuits, or self-care when every minute feels sunk into desperate survival?

How can you be expected to reach self-actualization when your basic needs are persistently in peril?

Not only are the basics harder, there’s also the pressure of an unsympathetic older generation that expects you to have the same success they did under different conditions.

We are under

constant assault

from social media.

The seismic powers that dominate our lives moved fast and broke us.

They dug through our skulls and found all the most rotten parts of the scared, seething, conniving animal stuck inside our brains and exploited it on a monstrous scale.

Greedy thugs hijacked our nervous systems and ripped our mental health from the soft tissue of our minds.

They terrorize our subconscious and dull our intellect.

Hordes of angry, thoughtless masses tell us we’re not good enough, we’re not pretty enough, we’re not manly enough, we’re not moral enough, we’re not tough enough, we’re not patriotic enough, we’re not working hard enough… we are not enough.

And that ugliness grows in our souls.

We become mangled in the dark abyss of anonymous cruelty.

Men are expected to endure
in silence.

Men are human beings.

They belong to a species of animal that is social and psychologically dependent on strong, interpersonal bonds.

And yet, they are expected to be something else.

They are expected to act more like machine than homo sapien.

Our modern definition of ‘masculinity’ demands that men be stoic, independent, and distant.

Vulnerability is to be mocked.

Truth must be buried.

Weakness is not to be tolerated.

These are poor conditions for a sound mind.

You need change.
You need it now.
